Community

Altona Magic is a leading sports and recreational club bringing the world game of football to our local community. Altona Magic believe our role in the community goes well beyond soccer and we look to work closely with the council of Hobsons Bay, local community groups as well as local schools.  As a sporting club we endeavour to make football an option for all in our local community.

With a history of promoting the Hobsons Bay area, Altona Magic proposed the creation of the Hobsons Bay Cup in 2014. This saw an inter-municipality tournament created involving 8 clubs. The initial event was held in 2015, as a pre-season tournament held at Altona Magic. Other clubs hosted the event in the following years. The initiative was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all that is great about Hobsons Bay and demonstrated Altona Magic’s leading position in our community.

Whilst continuing to have close ties to the Macedonian community of Victorian and New South Wales, Altona Magic regularly support local community and cultural events including the Macedonian Cup at junior and senior levels and festivals held to celebrate our heritage.

As a key supporter of our community we also look to support charity drives and fund raising events to help those in need or when significant events arise like the bushfires in 2020.

We are proud to represent Hobsons Bay and our Macedonian Community.

Macedonian Cultural & Artistic Association Collaboration 2024

Altona Magic support the local Macedonian Cultural & Artistic Associations, Inviting the Middle Dancing Group from “Jane Sandanski” to showcase the rich culture & heritage through dance at Paisley Park.

Jan. 2020, Magic's members band together to help The Bush Fire Appeal.

Altona Magic believe our role in the community extends well beyond soccer,. As a club we regularly use our facility to support charities and other fund raisers with our members volunteering to operate collection booths. This was no more evident than in 2020 when the club supported the bushfire appear seeing our members donate food, water and clothing to aid in the recovery.

Junior Macedonian Cup 2017 (Hosted by AMSC)
