2023 Season In Review


Optimism was high at Paisley Park from the word go this year as John Markovski’s incredible return to the helm of Altona Magic was exactly what the club needed!

-To start things of, the lads secured another National Maso Cup claiming their 3rd title in Newcastle after a strong pre-season

-A finals berth for the first time in the NPL Victoria era was also on the cards which exactly what the team did

-A team was made up most of young guns to interstate and local NPL talent. The players all stood out who put in the hard work with attractive football winning 6 straight along the way.

Jonas Markovski done his business winning the Golden Boot, sitting five goals clear at the top of the standings with 19 for the season also claiming the Bill Fleming award  & Players Player award

-Senior leaders Tom Woerndl, Alex Castiello & Jonas Markovski hit their 50 game milestone

-Former skipper & club legend Johnny Stojcevski cracks into the top 10 for most club appearances sitting in 6th position with 196 games

-Club photographer MP Images takes the main prize winning 2023 NPL Victoria’s best football image (Les Shorrock Award)

It caps off a remarkable year for Magic in 2023 after many picked Altona as a potential relegation candidate prior to the season kicking off.
